They say be careful what you wish for - I've always said I wanted to do the London Marathon and when I was unsuccessful in the ballot (for the 7th time!), and the opportunity came about to run for my daughter's school, I put in my application and would you believe it, got a place!  

So here's why I'm running for RLS:

The Royal Latin School in Buckingham is one of the oldest state schools in England, and sadly the worst funded school in England. 

However, that unenviable position with the lack of funding will not stop them reaching their goal of investing in the next generation.  

RLS has an holistic approach to education and wellbeing, and that's where the 600 campaign comes in.  The school will be 600 years old in 2023 and to celebrate reaching this milestone RLS aims is to raise £3m to create a new sports and wellbeing facility therefore catering for the whole of the student - which has never been more important with the mental health and wellbeing challenges recently faced during the pandemic.

RLS is in the final furlong of fundraising - only £250k to go out of their original £3m target, and I'm running to help get them over the line.

The facility RLS is creating and building won't just be for the school's use, but also for the local community, giving better access to a range of activities and community lectures for all!
