Story
As many of you know, Debs Langton died last year at the age of 59 from breast cancer.
She was an amazing, independent, fiery woman who dealt with all that the disease and the available treatments for it, threw at her with grit, grace and determination for 12 years.
In the last 4 months of her life, St Elizabeth’s Hospice gave her the ability to live at home in comfort and peace which is something Debs and her family were, and still are, so grateful for.
The depth of compassion, understanding and care shown by every single team member, from the nurses who visited on a daily basis to the on call team on the end of the phone, was astounding and a huge support to us at a very difficult time.
The work they do as a charity benefits so many individuals and families and we want be able to support them to continue with this and the ever increasing costs going forward.
We have set up a Just Giving Page in memory of Debs and in aid of St Elizabeth’s Hospice and will be doing a few events in the hope of raising £25,000 over the next year.
Kicking things off, my mad husband, Josh, ran a double Ultra Marathon (125km) in the Peak District. Josh came 3rd in his age group and 16th overall which is pretty amazing!
Next up:
- 7th May - Ironman 70.3 in Venice
- 28th May - Ride Essex a 100 mile bike ride in Essex
- 20th August - Ironman Copenhagen (sadly this has been postponed due to an ongoing injury which prevented training)
- 26th November - HYROX with Lizzie Renwick
Any donations to help spur us all on with every dumb bell lifted, stroke in the pool, pedal on the bike and stride on the road are so gratefully received.
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
