Fundraising for Ty Cariad Africa
Many of you will know that I have had the privilege of visiting Uganda on a number of occasions to see for myself the amazing work of Ty Cariad Africa. During my visits I saw how the money raised really does make a difference to the lives of the children the charity supports. My dip in the icy waters of Barry Island on New Years day is to raise money for the 2019 Christmas Appeal - Giving Gifts of Hope at Christmas. As I dip into the water I am hoping that you will dip into your pockets to help me raise money for the following items on the "gift list":
Food packages - 33 food packages for the community, families of resettled children, and families of staff who give their time each Christmas - 33 packages at £36 each = £1,188
Christmas Party - A Christmas Party at a water and play park for all the children at the Children's Home and those supported on the Community Education Support Programme - 76 places at £10 each = £760
Christmas Food - Food for the Christmas season's celebrations for the 70 children and staff at the Children's Home - 70 children and staff at £10 each - £700
Medical Emergencies - Umbilical hernia operations are needed for 2 sisters aged 7, and their brother age 12 - 3 operations at £285 each = £855
Maintenance at the Home - 4 solar backup batteries are needed - 4 at £375 each = £1,500
