Story
Here's one for ya:
What do you call a 49 year old woman who enters the London marathon ballot because she knows there's practically nooooo chance of getting in, then gets the "YOU'RE IN!!!!!"! message about 6 months later, opens the email and her first words are "oh, s**t"?
Well, that would be me...
I don't feel ready to run a marathon, I'm really excited about it but dreading it too!
I've stuck to the plan (mostly) but still doubt myself every minute that I run. I'm slow but determined. I don't love running, I don't even like it. I don't hate it any more though and I do like wine and crisps so it serves its purpose.
My knees sound like rice crispies when I go up and down stairs and don't even get me started on the insect bites I've picked up.
As I got a ballot place, I'm not obliged to support any particular charity but have chosen Macmillan Cancer Support as they do such amazing work looking after people with cancer.
I would love to dedicate each mile to someone to help me through when the going gets tough. If you would like me to run a mile for someone or in memory of someone, please put that in a comment with your donation and they will be my motivation to keep going for that mile. Anything you can donate will make a difference to a person with cancer and their family.
Thanks in advance :)
