Why am I daft enough to run a marathon.....

4 years ago I received a phone call from my husband Danny to say he wasn't feeling too well, something didn't seem right and I headed home, as I walked into our dining room I found him collapsed on the floor, luckily he had managed to dial 999 and the paramedics were on their way.

He'd had a heart attack, he was 53 years old!

The following morning they gave him an angioplasty and fitted 3 stents, 3 months later when his heart had repaired a little, they fitted 3 more, Danny will take medication for the rest of his life but at least he's one of the lucky ones!

The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target.
