Odyssey is a very special charity.  It exists solely to work with people suffering from cancer and provides 5 day courses, which involve some physically and mentally challenging stuff, often at unfeasible heights!  This builds confidence  to help deal with the emotional and psychological effects of the disease.

After my 6 months of chemotherapy was over, I really needed something to boost my belief in myself.  I spent a brilliant 5 days with Odyssey and learnt that I could rely on my body again and that it still worked (of a fashion)!

One of the things that particularly impressed me about Odyssey is that there is no charge to take part in their courses.  This means that fundraising is crucial to Odyssey being able to continue its work.

So what’s the deal?

* I get to spend between now and next March training to  walk 100km.  When I get to the Sahara,it will be hot (40°), it will be hilly and I’ll be carrying a load.  Most of the walking will be done over 4 days. 

* You get to put your hand in your wallet to sponsor me.  (See, you get off lightly!)
