Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Brain Tumours kill more children and Adults under the age of 40 than any other Cancer - yet despite this, historically only 1% of the national spend on Cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease.
Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM) is an aggressive and fast-growing form of brain cancer. It is the most common type of primary malignant brain tumour in Adults. Research carried out by the charity is currently focusing on using GBM stem cells to help develop unique, patient-specific treatments.
Some of you may know, that my Son's Girlfriends dad, Simon Ashcroft, passed away on the 12th November 2019 from GBM, aged just 53 years. Thanks to The Brain Cancer Research, who funded Simons treatment, Alison (Simons wife) and his daughters Catherine and Ruth had a precious 17 months extra time with him.
The team - Deb T is planning to climb Mount Snowdon in wales on the 12th June followed by completing the Yorkshire 3 peaks challenge on 11th July this year with the rest of the team Cameron, Charlotte & Jacqui to raise money for the charity.
I know times are tough at the moment, due to the Covid pandemic, so I understand if you are unable to donate, but please could you help by sharing my page far and wide.
I am hoping to raise £1300, which, will fund a days research in Simons name and see a memorial plaque placed in one of the research centres with Simon’s name on..
