Bryn Hughes is the Father of PC Nicola Hughes who lost her life alongside her colleague, Fiona Bone last September in Manchester.

One thing that is helping Bryn to manage from day to day is focusing on establishing a lasting legacy in the form a charity in Nicola’s memory that will help children who have lost a parent through a criminal act.

As part of this Bryn and a friend (a GMP Police Officer) are entering the North Pole Marathon in April 2014 with the aim of raising money for Victim Support, Care Of Police Survivors (COPS) & the North West Police Benevolent Fund.

Bryn has selected those charities as he feels that they have all proved invaluable in helping his family to deal with the aftermath of Nicola’s death.
