Story
Most of you stopping by this page will know our story - like so many other families, we have been devastated by baby loss. After the birth of our first child Sophie; we looked forward to growing our family, little did we know how hard that would be.
Over the course of the next three years, we lost four of her siblings. Our hearts were broken time and time again, and we finally gave up hope of bringing home another baby.
After making this difficult decision, I started to run. I wanted to do something positive to save other families from going through what we had - by raising money for Tommy’s I hoped that I could make a difference. It turned out that the biggest difference made was for me - as the pounds rolled in, the pounds dropped off the scales, and running became a huge part of my life - making me stronger, fitter, and happier than I’d been for a long time. I wondered whether if I’d been so healthy before whether any of our babies would’ve made it?
Beyond our wildest dreams we fell pregnant again - we were terrified. Hopeful, but terrified. I had heard of the PRISM trial carried out by Tommy’s recommending progesterone for those who have suffered multiple miscarriage and immediately demanded that my doctor prescribe it. Without the Tommy’s data to back up my requests I feel sure I wouldn’t have been given it (I’d asked with baby number 4 and not been allowed it). The waiting began..
As weeks turned to months, and each scan showed a growing, healthy baby, we started to dream that this baby would actually come home.
On 2nd December our beautiful rainbow appeared - filling our hearts and proving that miracles really can happen. Our son Joseph is the most incredible gift, and without Tommy’s I feel sure that he would never have been here.
Thank you will never be enough to the charity that has given us, and so many other families, the gift of life. We will forever raise money to help them bring more babies home to the families who so desperately deserve them. We fundraise in memory of the ones who couldn’t stay, and in celebration of the boy who finally got to come home 🌈 We are grateful for each and every donation however big or small. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts xx
