UPDATE 02/06/12
Well we did it! Finished yesterday and I've put a few photos on so you can see. If you're friends with me on Facebook there's a few additional photos there.
Massive thank you to everyone who has (or is going to!) donate. Your support means so much to me and to the thousands of patients and families that Macmillan will support.
THANK YOOOOOOUUUUUUUU!

Hi everyone,
Dave and I have decided to 'holiday' this year by cycling the Coast to Coast route linking Whitehaven on the west coast of the UK in Cumbria with Sunderland on the east coast in County Durham. Unfortunately, the Pennines are unavoidable!
It will be our first foray into long distance cycling and we wanted to take the opportunity to raise money for two charities very close to our hearts.
My Dad lost his battle with prostate cancer in 1995 when I was just 11 and he was very lucky to have access to Macmillan nursing care (a wonderful lady called Vera) who supported him and our whole family. In my daily work as a doctor I see the great work Macmillan nurses do with patients and families today but unfortunately there are not enough nurses for all the patients that would benefit so much from their care.
I hope my Dad would be proud that I'm following his lead - he cycled from Land's End to John O'Groats for charity in 1986! Maybe next year... ;-)
Any donation you give will help support people and their families living with cancer.
