I have been given the amazing opportunity to visit Sierra Leone with VSO in September to work on a range of issues such as HIV&AIDS, education, youth leadership and access to health care. As part of my commitment to the project, I must raise £800 so that VSO can continue sending people abroad.

In 2004, 70% of Sierra Leone lived below the poverty line, therefore, I will be spending just £1 a day (including all my meals) from the 27th of July to the 3rd of August in order to fundraise for VSO. I'll keep you updated here http://deborahbelowtheline.blogspot.co.uk/ .

VSO is an international development charity that works through volunteers living and working as equals alongside local partners. It is the largest independent (non-governmental) volunteer-sending organisation in the world which aims to fight poverty and injustice overseas.
