33 miles, 14 bridges and one BIG challenge!
On 22nd May 2011 I will be taking part in a sponsored cycle ride across 14 bridges in London to raise money for the UK Stroke Assosiation. We are starting with our bikes at Southwark Park. The route travels through the historic city of London and along the picturesque tow-paths of the River Thames, until we finally reach the finish line in Hurst Park near Hampton Court.
The Thames Bridges Bike Ride is a great day out for a great cause - raising money to help the 250,000 people in the UK living with disabilities caused by stroke.
Every year an estimated 150,000 people in the UK have a stroke. Stroke has a greater disability impact than any other medical condition. A quarter of a million people are living with long-term disability as a result of stroke in the UK. The Stroke Association funds research into prevention, treatment and better methods of rehabilitation, and helps stroke patients and their families directly through its Life After Stroke Services.
