Story

Did you know "1 in every 2 people born after 1960 will be diagnosed with Cancer in their lifetime?"(Cancer Research UK statistic)

It was just under 3 years ago, in May that Bowel Cancer in particular devastated our family, taking away my sister in law, Katie, at just 32 years of age.

As a mother of two young children, age 4 & 8 and a former member of the British Olympic Ice Skating squad Katie was determined to raise awareness that Bowel Cancer can affect any age, anybody, anywhere, anytime!!!!

Through various charity events, campaigns and with support of friends and family "Team Katie" have raised in excess of £16k for Cancer Research UK and Bowel Cancer UK.

Katie also wrote a blog www.katiescarbrough.co.uk to help spread positivity and support for other people and their families effected by Cancer.

On March 19th 2016 I will be running the 2016 AES Larne Half Marathon in her memory and to continue her legacy.  Please help me raise awareness and continue the fight against Cancer by donating through this page.
