Debbie Bird's 100 second plank · 18 April 2019

In 2019, GDA turns 100 years old and as part of our upcoming celebrations we are looking for 100 people to take on a challenge to help us raise £20,000...

Story

Please note my challenge has had to be delayed by a few weeks hopefully to 2nd May. I have an injury which means I have been told to rest up so the challenge has to wait unfortunately.

Last June my new personal trainer Dan Hills said 'can you do a plank' and I said 'what's that?'

I thought our arrangement would be over before we started. The first time I did about 10 seconds on my knees!

In September 2018 when GDA attended the business breakfast for Gloucestershire Independent Network at Hatherley Manor they told us about the 100 challenge for 100 years. By then I could do a 25 second plank.

Rashly I opened my mouth and said I could do a 100 second plank. That IS a personal challenge for me!

As I write on 22nd March I am setting the date for the challenge of 18th April at the GIN breakfast. I have done 83 seconds in training but I am making progress each week.

Whether you want to offer 1p, 10p or £1 per second or any other amount please give me encouragement but more importantly GDA the encouragement and funds they deserve.
