Story
Thanks for visiting our Just Giving page, where we’re raising funds for Amnesty International in memory of Indi, wonderful boyfriend to Ashley and university friend of Ben’s. We have all been so saddened by his sudden death last year.
We now want to add to the fantastic fundraising begun by Ashley and her friends ever since his death. What started as the germ of an idea to mark our 60th birthdays this year has snowballed into an epic 1200-mile cycling trip from Land’s End to John o’Groats (LEJOG) –a challenge we have now achieved! We set ourselves an original fundraising target of £1,200 for Amnesty International, the charity Indi supported so actively.
We've been blown away by our supporters' amazing generosity which has resulted in us exceeding our revised target of £3000, but we are still happy to receive more donations so we can smash that target!
Amnesty International are dedicated to fighting for social justice and human rights across the world - values that Indi shared and promoted during his life.
From Land’s End our route took us via home in Sheffield where we
spent a fantastic day cheering on the 30+ friends and family who made up ‘Team Amnesty Running for Indi’, as they undertook the (extremely hilly!) Sheffield Half Marathon on Sunday 9th April. Then we headed off
again, on up to the Northumberland coast, Edinburgh, and uncharted territory for us of the Scottish Highlands and eventually John o’Groats. We finished just as the snow arrived in Scotland!
Please help us smash our target of £3,000 for Amnesty International!
