As we mourn the loss of our much loved Nicola Jane Blake we as a family have been thinking of ways to honour her memory.
Nicola was diagnosed with metastatic stage 4 stomach cancer in May 2021. Sadly the survival rate for gastric cancers are low due to the fact that symptoms do not start to show until the cancer is at an advanced stage.
Nicola went into the care of Strathcarron Hospice who looked after Nicola with such care and compassion along with supporting let’s say her very large family in her last days of life.
Strathcarron Hospice is a charity based organisation delivering palliative care for Cumbernauld, Kilsyth and Forth Valley. For Strathcarron to run safely and effectively it needs £8.75 million each year. To support there delivery of fantastic care we have decided to climb Ben Nevis on July 23rd which would of been Nicola’s 49th Birthday in her memory.
Any donations big or small would be appreciated or wish to take part in the event please let me know ASAP.
I can’t put into words what Nicola meant to everyone in our family but there is a big gaping hole in everyone’s hearts and I know she will be with every step of the way
