Story

Hi everyone,

Thanks for taking the time to visit our Just Giving Fundraising Page.

Yip, Natalie and I are mad, we are doing the one mile open water swim again this year. This time, we are braving the very cold waters of Alton Water near Ipswich swimming in aid the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

Last year we raised over £600 for MS and this time we are swimming to help to raise money to help finance future research and development in finding a cure for those families affected by MND.

On a personal note, I am swimming in memory of my Mum and other family members who have succumbed to MND.  I also would like to take this opportunity to thank those researchers, particularly those involved in our family case at the University of Sydney who have recently found the faulty gene which causes the rare familial form of MND in my family.

We would be ever so grateful if you could spare a few pennies to sponsor us.  It's going to be much more of a challenge for us this year as the water will looks as though it is going to be a lot colder than last year and I can't see the British weather improving enough to warm up the water :-\

Thank you.
