Story
Hi everyone!
On the 4th of September 2011 I will be running 10k in the Great Scottish Run and would like to try and raise as much as possible for Friends of the Beatson and Leukaemia and Lymphoid Research.
As many of you know my mum was diagnosed with leukaemia earlier this year and spent around 6 months in hospital undergoing and recovering from intensive chemotherapy. Thankfully she is now at home and is making a full recovery :)
Friends of the Beatson is a registered charity and is located within the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre. It was originally founded by former patients of the Beatson and is still run by them today. The care and support my mum received at the Beatson Cancer Centre was incredible and the facilities provided by Friends of the Beatson made long stays in hospital all the more bearable. They offer a number of free therapies and treatments from reiki and massage to manicures, pedicures and hairdressing services. The staff there are so friendly and supportive towards the patients and really do give them the opportunity to take their minds off what they are going through. My mum definitely felt the benefit of having them there and so I would love it if you would donate to Friends of the Beatson so that others can too.

Thanks! :)
