Story

Cancer effects so many people and their families. Southend Hospital Breast Unit strive to be the best in the country and offer fantastic care, both medical and emotional, along with their counterparts in Oncology and Radiotherapy.

You never know when you may need this wonderful unit, but it came last Spetember for Debbie, when she found out her lovely Mum, Pat. had found a lump in her breast and was given the devestating news that it was cancerous.

Through the speed and brilliance of Southend Breast Unit, they have helped Pat through every step of her treatment.

We would like to raise money to thank them for everything they are doing for Pat and all the other inspirational women going through Breast Cancer.

To raise money Catherine and Debbie will be doing the Alpro 10k advcnture run on 15 June 2013. The 'adventure' part being scrambling over hay bales, under nets, balancing on beams and flying down a giant water slide and many more. We have been told to expect to get wet, muddy and burn some serious energy, all in the name of FUN!

Whilst doing the challenge we will be inspired by Pat's courage through the last 6 months and all the other family and friends that have fought this dreadful disease that effects so many.

Any help you can give would be really appreciated to help Southend Breast Unit continue to provide fantastic care and treatment.

Many Thanks
Catherine and Debbie
