Story
Philippa Thomas, Phil, Pip, Pippi, Pippa - so many different names - she was loved and called “friend” by so many different people.
Pip was just 44 years old when she passed away.
For nearly two years she fought breast cancer and the secondary cancer that finally stole her life away and always with that lovely smile on her face - always with a positive attitude.
She was a very caring person and would have been pleased that something good came from all the suffering she endured.
So in memory and because of Philippa we would like to raise money for’ Breakthrough Breast Cancer’.
Friends and family of Pip will be arranging various events over the coming months and competing in various sporting challenges.
In July “Pip’s Channel Swim Team” will attempt to swim the English Channel, there and back; one of the toughest events of the swimming calendar. Around the time of the swim four of Pip’s nieces and nephews will swim the same distance in swimming pools in Pershore and Sutton Coldfield. Her sister Deb and brother-in-law Andy are entering the Great Midlands Fun Run, and on 1 September sister-in-law Julie will be aiming to complete the Vitruvian Middle Distance / Half Ironman Triathlon at Rutland Water. This involves a 1.9km open water swim, a hilly 54mile bike ride and a half marathon. This will be double the race distance she has completed before.
We hope for success with all these events and if she’s watching somewhere I think she would be proud!
Your generosity in support of this underfunded charity and the activities planned is very much appreciated.
