At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Hi Everyone,

Christmas Day 2017 ~ the day my world fell apart!

My mum (Vicky) was suddenly taken into hospital for an episode of delirium. Less than a month later she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's.

2 years later we are managing well with the support of The Alzheimer's Society and other Charities, without which I don't know where we would be.

And it is not just my mum, I have so many friends that tell me they too have parents with Alzheimer's and other types of dementia.

It doesn't just affect the person but has ripple effects on the whole family.

So I have decided to run my 1st (and probably last) half marathon to help raise some much needed money and  awareness of this cruel disease.

Please G-d we can help to find a cure.

Any contribution, however small will be greatly appreciated, I will be sending updates on my training (thanks to #MichelleDench #coachinthecorner).

Thank you for your support.
