Story
In December 2015 I was diagnosed with stage 3 invasive breast cancer, my world was turned upside down, I was devastated. I had just ordered myself a new pair of trainers and when they arrived I considered posting them back, but a little voice in my head said 'no, you are going to keep them and take part in the Great North Run 2017'!
I started my chemotherapy in January 2016, then had a mastectomy followed by 3 weeks of radiotherapy. I also had a second mastectomy in February 2017 and injections every 3 weeks until April 2017. Throughout this time I used Breast Cancer Care's forum page, which helped me get through my treatment by having conversations with others going through similar treatment. We kept each other strong. I am raising money for Breast Cancer Care to help this charity to continue helping people going through such a difficult time in there lives.
