Story

Thanks for supporting my fundraising.

I will be walking the 26 mile mighty hike along the Jurrasic Coast in September. This will be in Memory of my Grandad Bill Drake. In 2021 i completed the 13 mile hike. This year I want to take it a step further.  For me it is more than just raising money, again I really will find this one mentally hard to do, me and grandad along with the family would go hiking near enough every month when we was younger and I couldn't find a more fitting thing to do in his memory.

Grandad was diagnosed with Cancer late 2020 and 3 months later we lost him, it involved complications with his heart but I really wanted to raise some money to support the charity and help raise as much money possible to support other victims and their families.

The mental challenges will be difficult for me but not forgetting the physical challenge, over the past 22 years of my life i have had extremely painful and complicated knee problems which comes with 12 knee operations and both knees having major reconstruction.  I need to get back my strength to make this happen. But thinking about raising money in memory of my Grandad i know will push me beyond my boundries.

I’ve decided to fundraise for Macmillan Cancer Support, and I’d really appreciate your help.

I will be taking with me the walking stick that he made me. He had a passion where ever he went to keep an eye out for a good fallen brach he could carve in to a walking stick.
