Story
Hello and thank you for taking the time to read about my challenge and my reason for doing it.
On 12th October a team of us (myself and 6 others), will commence our trek to Everest base camp.
As most of you know I am always up for a challenge. But this is by far the biggest challenge of my life!
So why do it, I hear you say?
Let me tell you.
Many of you will have heard me talk about Thangpalkot1 and the fantastic work the Campbell Foundation (Charity) have been doing.
Thangpalkot1 is a village in Nepal that was tragically struck by the Himalayan Earthquake of April 2015.
Thousands of people lost their lives in the area and the village
was truly devastated.
Many remain homeless with little prospects of rebuilding
their lives.
Now I don’t know about you but I find it difficult to imagine the kind of suffering these people have endured.
A combination of logistical, economic and political factors mean these people face an uncertain future without our help.
The thing is, it doesn’t have to be this way.
With just a little help from you, we really can make a positive, ongoing difference to the lives of these people.
This is why Paul Campbell set up the Campbells Foundation.
Paul has visited the village 3 times so far, driven by his passion to deliver this goal to change the lives of these people for the better.
He is always humbled by their hospitality.
Even though they have so little, they always find so much to give.
Pauls goal is to finish re-building homes in Thangpalkot1.
To date enough money has been raised for 26 homes which have been completed.
This is amazing progress but there are still 55 to go in this village.

So when Sean Newman of Fine and Country Foundation, told Paul of his plan to trek to Everest Base Camp, that was all the inspiration Paul needed to arrange the team for this challenge supported by both foundations.
When Paul invited me to be part of this team, I had no hesitation given this was the chance to raise awareness of the help these people need, and give you the opportunity to help change their lives.
So how can you help?
My aim in taking part in this Expedition is to raise enough money to build another home in Thangpalkot1.
It takes £1600 to re-build a home.
Rest assured that every penny donated goes directly into building new homes for the village.
Would you like to be part of this challenge?
Every penny counts so I would ask you to kindly donate anything you feel able to give.
Please click on the donate button at the bottom of the page.
Please remember to leave your name as I would like to thank you personally for your generosity.
Myself and the team will be posting progress and you can always find out more by visiting the fundraising ‘Team Thangpalkot1’ at

Your support is very much appreciated and I look forward to sharing more news on Thangpalkot1 village and the difference your donations are making.
Thank you so much
Dean
