Story
Cancer sucks! We are getting closer to find cures, but more money is needed to fund cancer moonshots and support the wonderful people at Macmillan who offer a constant source of energy and inspiration. The disease has become close to me in recent years. My father is a cancer surviver - Liver cancer - 6 years ago. My wife's aunt Yvonne sadly passed away this summer from ovarian cancer and I've just been diagnosed with Lymphoma, so this battle is personal.
The Dragon ride across the Black Mountains in Wales and organised by the same people who bring you the Tour de France, is a massive challenge. The one day event is reputedly hard enough. Like an idiot I've thrown myself into 3-days of dragon dodging madness. Should be fun. There is nothing easy about the battle against cancer so I figured I may as well up the ante
I'm doing this to stay fit and focused as I journey on my new adventure. I also want to do it n memory of a very lovely woman, Yvonne.
That's my story for now but there is lots more still to come. If you'd like to support my quest to slay the dragon, well you know what to do. All donations will go to Macmillan Cancer Support which Yvonne supported during her struggle. Her baton has been passed and I want to carry it in her name and the many others.
