We pioneer life-saving cancer research to help us beat cancer

Story

Folks,

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am raising money for Cancer Research UK, a charity very close to me, my family and I’m sure millions of other who have lost a loved one to cancer.

Personally, I lost my Nanna to lung cancer when I was a teenager and just recently my wife’s Nanna was diagnosed with late stage ovarian cancer.

My friends and I have set a goal of competing in a number of triathlons in 2011 with hope of raising as much money as possible for this great cause, the climax of the year is the London Triathlon in July, the world largest triathlon event with 15000 competitors expected on the start line of London’s Thames dock ready for the plunge into the river for a 1 mile swim followed by a 26 mile bike finishing with a 6 mile run.

Serious training started in January of this year with long painful sessions running the roads, putting the miles in on the bike and hours a week in the pool, these sessions are painful but they are nothing compared to the pain that cancer suffers live with daily.

I’m mindful of the world we live in with cost of living increasing almost weekly but I ask that if you could spare a few quid please sponsor me.

Cheers

Dean J
