Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!
I've set myself a big huge scary task of running the 2017 London Marathon. It's something I've always wanted to do but more importantly, it gives me an opportunity to support Guide Dogs for what they've done to support my Dad.
Over the years I watched my Dad lose his eyesight and become less independent. I noticed that he needed to hold onto others arms for guidance, that he couldn't see as well in the dark, his eyesight was slowly taking away his life from him.
Guide dogs gave my Dad Jason, the most lovable lump of a dog I've ever met. He's super clever and diligent but also full of character and lovable.
Every time I contact my Dad he's in a different part of the country with Jason. Jason has allowed him to meet people with similar conditions, help those in need and allows him to travel independently.
Jason has given my Dad his life back and for that, I can't thank Guide Dogs enough.
It's a very ambitious target (physically and money wise) but if I can drag myself out of bed at 6am to go a training run then you can donate some money!
Big thanks,
Dean
