Story
After a lifetime of watching the London marathon with a hangover in bed on a Sunday morning, I'm finally going to attempt to run 26.2 miles myself. I've done the Great North Run for the last 4 years, and am genuinely excited about doing the full 26 around London. Half marathons can be blagged with a couple of runs a few weeks before the event, but I don't think that's the case for 26 miles... I'm currently up to 12 miles in training, and am starting to get rather bored, and tired with it all if i'm honest. Running in the dark and cold around Stamford has become rather dull recently, and i even struggled to do 4 miles tonight.
Therefore, I could do with some sponsorship to give me some beans please! I'm running for the Willow foundation which gives special days out to terminally ill young people between the age of 18-40, so it's a well worthy cause. This charity was set up by Bob Wilson (ex Arsenal keeper / BBC) in memory of his daughter who died aged 31. £1600 is my target and this would pay for a special day out for 1 young person and their partner / friend. They choose what would be their 'perfect day' and Willow arrange it for them.
