Some of you guys may know that I’ve done a barefoot trek in the past to raise money for MacMillan cancer on Beinn Alligin.
Tiny changes is a charity set up after the vocalist and lead guitarist Scott Hutchison of the Scottish indie rock band “Frightened Rabbit” sadly took his own life.
I was really moved by the talks I heard the spokespeople of this charity I heard at a festival. I have also known of too many young suicides in the small town of Arbroath where I’m from, where there were many fans of the band “Frightened Rabbit” who would come and do band nights locally.
Also I am an individual who has struggled with mental health issues on and off through my teenage years and early adulthood.
From memory - I believe the charity “Tiny Changes” mentioned that to date they have helped over 4000 young people in Scotland (probably more by now) struggling with mental health issues regarding suicidal thoughts etc.
I’ve personally climbed Ben Nevis 3 times and I’ve never got to the top with a clear view - it has always been a bit cloudy! I’ve never done it barefoot and I estimate it will take 18-20 hours to complete
Please feel free to share this post! I’ve set a financial goal of £1500 - more than I’ve ever raised before.
You’ll no doubt see this post shared a good few times and I hope that you can help this become a tangible effort with real world consequences for young minds!
Thank you 🙏
It won’t be easy but it reflects some of the extreme challenges people face mentally every day -
