Story

Thank you for visiting my Just Giving Page.

In July of this year I'll be cycling from Lands End to John O'Groats in memory of my wife Susan.

The shortest route for this would be 874 miles but as I'll be cycling on some quieter roads the distance will be approximately 1,000 miles. This will take 14 days with an average of 72 miles per day and over 50,000 feet of climbing. I am funding the cost of this myself so that all the money I raise will go to Versus Arthritis.

Susan had Rheumatoid Arthritis from the age of 12 but never stopped this from leading as active a life as possible. While studying a French degree at university she underwent a hip replacement during the summer holidays so she could continue her studies, then having a double knee replacement once her studies were finished.

For someone with a disability living an independent life as possible is extremely important to them. This I learnt from Susan over the years and also living life to the full within what you are capable of.

Before I met Susan I thought Arthritis was something that affected you as you got older not when you were young. How wrong I was. Arthritis in its many forms can effect you at any age so please help me raise some money for this fantastic charity.
