SUPER SEPTEMBER IS BACK FOR 2024!!!!
We are raising as much money as possible for Blood Cancer UK, as this charity is close to our hearts. Our Mum, Denise Smith had bone marrow cancer ( MDS ). Unfortunately, there was no cure for this, it is something Mum had to live with and be monitored regularly to see how it progressed. Earlier in 2022, Mum had complications due to MDS and other conditions she had and we nearly lost her to sepsis. She managed to pull through two lots of sepsis and fought a long hard battle but unfortunately we lost our Mother to MDS on the 30.05.2022. I wouldn't wish what happened to our Mother on anyone and for that reason, I along with amazing Family and Friends will once again undergo a series of tasks in September to raise money for Blood Cancer UK with the hope that one day we can help aid the amazing people at BCUK find a cure.
This page is in Memory of our late Mother Denise Smith.
In September I will once again undergo a series of challenges starting on the weekend of the 14th with a Hybrid Ultramarathon, this is 30+ miles or running over 24 peaks in the lake district with a 30 mile bike ride in the middle to link the two sections, some of the Mountains I will tackle are Scafell Pike, Hellvelynn, Great Gable + 21 others which are all the highest in England, my aim is to complete this in under 12hrs. Challenge two is a 70.3 Ironman which is a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile Mountain Bike ride and a 13 mile trail run, aim is to complete this in under 8hrs. Challenge Three is a 420 mile Mountain Bike Ride from Loch Ness to Home, this will be done over five days going around loch ness, over the Cairngorms Mountain Range through Scotland into England and along Hadrian's Wall then down through the Pennine way along to home where we will finish up at new Marske Workingman's Club with a family fun day followed by an Old School Rave on the night time.

Below is a statement from Blood Cancer UK.
We're a community dedicated to beating blood cancer. We do this by funding research and supporting those affected. Since 1960, we've invested over £500 million in blood cancer research, transforming treatments and saving lives. Right now, our community is funding 360 researchers and staff across the UK who are searching for the next breakthrough. The day we will beat blood cancer is now in sight and the researchers are determined to finish the job.
Please please please help whatever you can afford whether its a pound or more it is very much appreciated and will go a long way to helping find a cure for Blood Cancer.
