Hello! 

We are raising funds for Renewable World by riding 215 miles (345km) over 2 days through the rolling hills and forests between Durham and Edinburgh in June. Please sponsor us! Knowing you're backing us will help us battle over the hills, through the clouds of midges and be that extra incentive to make sure we get back in the saddle on the second day!

And you'll be supporting some great work. We're riding for Renewable World because it's a really neat organisation that addresses several issues close to our heart in an innovative yet simple manner. Working with rural communities in Africa, Asia and Central America Renewable World develops and provides small scale renewable energy systems (such as solar, wind, hydro and biogas) to encourage self-sufficiency and alleviate poverty. 

For example, the projects improve healthcare by providing families with clean water systems and promote education by allowing children to study in the evening. They also increase incomes by enabling fisherwomen to transport their catches in ice to markets further away and by improving irrigation systems for farmers through solar power water pumps. Critically, Renewable World don't work out of ivory towers but instead are based where their projects are, partnering with local communities to develop sustainable, long term solutions that work for them. 

We are covering all our costs for the ride so any funds that you give will go straight to Renewable World's work.
