We are excited to have the opportunity to raise funds for
EHAAT – Essex And Herts Air Ambulance Trust! 

Earlier this year the son of our Training and Technical Manager, Steve Davey, was in a horrendous car accident, thankfully EHAAT were soon by his side to offer incredible support. We want to do all we can to help such hard working individuals continue in their first class service. 

DBD Staff will be walking approx. 20 miles on Friday 7^th September to show our support, this will be through a mixed terrain in Hertfordshire and will involve hard work and training. For those that are unable to walk the whole 20 miles we are offering a 5 mile option too.

DBD have committed to paying a £1 for every mile each of us
walk, however may we ask for your help too! No matter how big or small, your donations will have a huge impact on so many lives!

‘On the 25^th of January this year our son Nathan was involved in a head on car collision. His injuries were so serious the air ambulance only had minutes to get him out of the car so that they could attend to his multiple injuries. The air ambulances quick response time and there expertise ensured that Nathan was saved from his potential life threatening injuries. We truly believe that if it wasn’t for the air ambulance the outcome of our story would be very different. Essex and Herts air ambulance is not part of the NHS and receives limited government funding. They are a Charity and rely on money that is donated. Your support provides a free life saving service for the critically ill and injured. The total monthly operational costs are £500,000, the average cost per mission is £2,500 and they are out on average 4 times a day! We cannot thank them enough for everything they did to save our son and also for their kindness and support since then. On behalf of our whole family we would be very grateful for any donations, no amount
too small.

Unlike the NHS emergency services, they are a Charity providing a free life-saving Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) for the critically ill and injured of Essex, Hertfordshire and surrounding areas.
Each HEMS Team consists of a Pilot and Co-pilot, a Pre-hospital Care Doctor and a Critical Care Paramedic who can be rushed to the scene of an incident with life-saving support equipment to deliver advanced clinical care that is normally only found in the hospital emergency department. Once stabilised, the patient will be conveyed by air or land to the most appropriate hospital for their needs. It costs £6.5 million every year to cover all charitable costs and aircraft operations. Without access to National Lottery funding and with only limited support from Government, we rely upon the generosity and goodwill of the people and businesses of Essex and Hertfordshire to remain operational and keep saving lives…working together funded by you!
