My Challenge for Help for Heroes
In September, after returning from Afghanistan, I will hike from St Bees on the West coast of England to Robin Hood's Bay on the East coast. I will hopefully complete the walk in 12-14 days and will cover the distance alone, unsupported, sleeping in a small tent and equipped with just what I can carry.
The Coast to Coast walk is a 192-mile unofficial and mostly unsignposted long-distance footpath in Northern England. Devised by Alfred Wainwright, it passes through three contrasting national parks: the Lake District National Park, the Yorkshire Dales National Park, and the North York Moors National Park.
