We raise funds for research to help children & young people with cancer

Story

We are arranging a charity cricket match in support our good friend Daz. He has recently been diagnosed with terminal cancer. Daz has used his love of cricket to bring together a group of us from all over the country who share the same passion, leading to us becoming a great group of mates. We owe a lot to Daz for the opportunities he has given us all. Because of this, we are looking to raise some money for Cancer Research UK so that fewer people have to experience the horrific feeling that Daz, his family and friends have experienced recently and will continue to go through.

We will be holding a charity game, we are in the process of arranging this currently, to honour Daz and any further proceeds from this event will also go to the same charity. COCC is the acronym of the group chat that Daz created which has helped us all massively over the last 18 months throughout the pandemic.

All donations are massively appreciated and we hope to give Daz an event he will be able to cherish forever.

*We will also be holding a raffle at the event, with various prizes available. If you would like to donate a prize please message @NS17i on twitter*

About the charity

Cancer in children & young people (aged 0–24) is different to cancer in adults – from the types of cancer, to the impact of treatment & the long-term side effects survivors often experience. Through research we’re determined to overcome some of the different challenges these cancers present.
