Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Hi my name is Paul Austin On the 1st December 1999 I was hit by a car while crossing the road . I had severe injuries I had a shattered skull with 200 stitches , 11 fractures to my fibula and tibia, lost my right kneecap, dislocated shoulder, shattered arm socket and broken collarbone . I died in the road but for the outstanding work of the paramedics. They had to reset my leg as there was no pulse . I had several operations to save my leg including a bone graph. So when I spoke to my surgeon , Mr Victor Wolfe that I want to climb mount snowdon for the Darren Chant Memorial Trophy he said it would be a serious challenge . Especially when I said I shall be taking the Watkins path and carrying . a full Bergan. My injuries are nothing compared to the loss of the 16 and all that we're injured while serving in the Grenadier Guards. I feel it is my duty to raise as much money for this worthy cause . I served in this fine regiment and my son serves today in The Queens Company. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and a big thank you for your donations
