A group of 12 cyclists from the Dayinsure team are cycling from London to Paris this September, to raise money for The Joshua Tree.

The Joshua Tree is a wonderful charity that are local to our office in Cheshire, and they do incredible work that really changes lives.
Their website states:

“The Joshua Tree charity supports families across the North
West living with the life-changing experience of childhood cancer. We offer support to the whole family – patient, parents, siblings, and grandparents with 1-2-1 support, practical and therapeutic help to ensure that life remains as normal as possible during an incredibly traumatic time.”

To raise money, our ride will be three days of cycling along roads, canal paths and cycle tracks in (hopefully) the beautiful September sunshine. We’re a group of very mixed ability – there are a few people who could probably do the ride tomorrow with no problems, and a few more of us who definitely need the six months to train hard!

We’ll be riding 194 miles in total, broken up into three days of 66, 48, and 80 miles finishing in Paris (though we’ve been assured it’s most definitely downhill all the way). We plan to do some group training sessions in the meantime, to get everyone fighting fit and help us adjust to riding on the roads in a group formation.

Two members of the team are taking things a few steps further and will be beginning their ride in Tarporley – adding an extra 216 miles to their journey in just two days! – then meeting the rest of the group in London as we start the journey to Paris. We also have a support vehicle coming with us, driven by a member of staff here and a brave volunteer; they’ll
be keeping us safe, looking after the bikes and, if they’re any good, providing bi-hourly croissants as we cross the border.

We will also be holding a few fundraising events to make sure we reach our fundraising goals as quickly as possible – and that’s where you come in! Please donate whatever you can, as all of the money will be going to support families affected by cancer, and help The Joshua Tree build their new purpose-built Support Centre in Sandiway.
