Story
So it started as a challenge ..................... Nicky will be hitting a significant milestone this year and for those of you who know her well will understand that she felt it was only right that she set herself a new challenge with a little help from her friend !
So we signed up to London to Paris cycle ride, but it was more significant than that ..........
Nicky sadly lost her mum to cancer far too soon at the very young age of 60 , so it is important to her that she gives something back . In the hope that it can help others get earlier diagnosis and the right treatment faster and stop this horrible disease taking loved ones away from us far too soon.
We then spent time reflecting and there are so many friends and family we have lost - both of our Grans , our dear friends Siobhan Pritchard, and Janet Griffiths sadly the list started to grow and grow.
Its not just those who we have lost though its those who are going through their own battle against cancer today and those who have beaten the disease.
This has made us even more determined to do our bit and raise as much money and awareness for Women's Cancer - we have set ourselves a stretching target but with your help we can achieve this !
The training has started in earnest at the Shrewsbury Club and both Tom Meehan and Mickey Brown are putting us through our paces !
We have also been really lucky to secure expert advice and support from Lee Handley @Stanscycles - its not just us that need to be in good shape for the event , our bikes need to be as well.
The Shrewsbury Club will be supporting us every step/pedal of the way and will update you on our progress .....
Its the biggest challenge we have done to date and we can make a difference to Woman's Cancer with your support
