Story

Our Vision- We are passionate about supporting the creation of a brilliant patient experience for everyone across the Trust at Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro, St Michaels Hospital in Hayle and West Cornwall Hospital in Penzance. Thanks to kind and generous supporters like you, we are able to fund equipment, facilities or additional training with our patients at the heart of everything that we do.

I have been type1 diabetic for 40 years and have used the services of the Trust for all of these years, the wards, A& E, support services and Neo Natal unit too. I feel its time to give back to those services which have supported me through childhood, teen years and into my adult life.

I have therefore opted to share my fundraising between the Diabetes Children's fund and the Neo Natal Fund - both supporting our local children in Cornwall.

I took up running over 12 years ago with a view to improving my health and staving off diabetes long term conditions (vascular).following the birth of my son.

I hope that seeing that I have Type1 Diabetes along with a couple of other medical conditions will not prevent me from achieving my goals, just a little determination will help me push along my training plan (even during the winter storms and challenges which will be thrown at me long the way).

It is a tremendous opportunity to run the London Marathon (after 12 years rejection entering the ballot) on behalf of Royal Cornwall Hospital that I have worked for since 1988 - I hope that we can find the target to help this worthy charity and support my training to April 23.

We have all either used the services of the Royal Cornwall Hospital or have a friend or family member who have, and if you havn't you are very fortunate indeed, but chances are one day you will know someone who will need them to a greater or lesser degree.... I think it is true that we should be truly thankful for all the wonderful staff who work both on front line and behind the scenes to keep the wheels of this enormous machine well-oiled and functioning the very best that it can.

Thank you for visiting my donation page, please donate what you can knowing that your donation will go to support local people/friends ... family.

Please note if you are receiving anything for your donation, please do not opt for the Gift Aid option, however if this is purely a donation then go right ahead !

Please do follow my progress, I am extremely excited for my journey to April 2023 !!!
