Latest fundraising event....
On Friday 22nd June at 10.00pm I am doing 10k walk in memory of my wonderful friend Dolores Branagan who passed away at Rotherham Hospice on 30th March this year.
Dolores was childminder to my children Declan & Rhainne and looked after over 400 children during her career, we became good friends and used to walk each week to keep fit and have the occasional night out too where we both enjoyed a glass of wine!
I didn’t realise how much I loved her until I knew was going to lose her, she was one amazing person, fantastic wife, mother, sister, daughter, auntie and one very special friend. She was diagnosed with terminal cancer in January this year and was so brave, a real inspiration.
When Dolores went into the hospice she said was like “living on a cushion”. I had never been to the hospice before and didn’t know what to expect but what a fantastic place. The care and attention she received was faultless, in her room “Lavender” was everything she needed. It was a sanctuary to be with family and friends in the final stage of her life.
The hospice is part funded by NHS but also relies on self funding too and Dolores asked for donations at her funeral to be made to the hospice so that they could continue end of life care and this is where the money will go that I am hoping to raise.
Any donation large, medium or small would be wholly appreciated, thank you for your support in what will motivate me to keep going at midnight on Friday 22nd and keep the care needed at the Hospice for other families in their time of need x x
