Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page
As Harry approaches his first day at school, I would like to try to raise some awareness for the ECMO unit and the amazing life saving work that is carried out there day and daily.
I will forever be grateful and my efforts will be endless in trying to support this unit. If it wasn't for the technology, staff and training, our special little boy would not be with us today.
My biggest motivation for this at this time is a very vivid memory from our time when Harry was on ECMO. We were just outside the security door of the ward after seeing the chaplain who was helping us prepare for the worst and pinned on the notice board was a story of a boy who had survived thanks to ECMO. There was a picture of the boy in his school uniform starting his first day of school. That story and picture gave me great hope in the darkest hours and I now feel it important to try to do the same for someone else who may find themselves in the same position. I have sent a picture of Harry graduating from nursery and will forward on the snaps as he completes his first day at school.
Harry would not have survived had there not been an ECMO machine available and I really am thankful that he is a happy and thriving 5 year old about to embark on the next chapter of his development.
If you have anything to spare no matter how small, please donate..... it may be the difference of a life!
