Story

WRITTEN BY OUR DAUGHTER:

Elizabeth is our darling 1 year old daughter. She wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for Great Ormond streets brilliant team of highly skilled surgeons, doctors and nurses. She has had 3 major heart operations. First one when she was only 20 days old where she had Coarctation repair on her heart and spent 6 weeks in Great Ormond Street. She also had keyhole surgery in May where they repaired the arch on her heart. She had her 2nd major operation in July, where she had AVSD repair and spent 5 months in Great Ormond Street, during that time she went into heart failure and had to have a further heart operation where she had a melody valve inserted in October, which was truly ground breaking as only being done once before. Elizabeth is now  at home and doing well, she still needs to have another heart operation, but we are hoping it will be in 2 years time. Elizabeth's family will always be eternally grateful to Great Ormond Street for saving Elizabeth's life many times.
