Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
At the start of January a good friend of mine said she was going to run the Chester Half Marathon and I said I would do it with her. I seem to have had the same conversation every January for a number of years and never actually done anything about it so this time I went home and signed up. Scary as now I really DO have to do it.
Alder Hey Children's Hospital has always been important to my family as my 10 year old uncle David Conlan died 2 days after I was born. He had a very rare cancer and was only 1 of 5 in the UK that had it. Alder Hey were great with supporting everyone through the illness and after.
A few weeks ago a friend showed me a little presentation that her 6 year old daughter had put together to try and raise money for Alder Hey Children's Hospital, her best friend Skye Higgins tragically lost her battle with leukemia last year. The presentation was so beautiful, it really touched me.
So here I am about to embark on the biggest fitness challenge of my life and I couldnt think of a better charity to raise money and awaness for.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Wish me luck and i'm sure I will see a few friendly faces in the crowd on Sunday 18th May.
