The type of comments from Parents & carers who have had a Portage home visitor (Adjusted a little to ensure Parent's anonymity)
Our Portage worker gives our little one different chances to play. She always looks at what he can do and not what he can’t. She is very creative with the toys she brings in for him. He can’t wait to see what's in the toy bag every week.
With help from my Portage worker our daughter had all her developmental goals broken into smaller achievable ones. She is walking now which is amazing. By having someone who we have got to know has helped me feel more confident as I was nervous to go out. Now I am regularly attending our local children's centre
Portage is such a wonderful service it has helped our child move on such a lot in a short space of time.
We had a Portage worker write a This Is Me book for our son. We will all be sad to say goodbye to her but have this book written from our Son’s point of view to remember her by. It's so lovely to have it to pass onto his first nursery and we feel happy that the staff will really start to understand what our son needs right from the start which is such a reassurance. Everything written in his profile is positive-even the areas in which he struggles with.
