Story
Starting on 1 January and ending on the 26th, I have chosen to swim 26 miles (averaging 1 mile a day) as my very own "My Mighty Marathon". By taking part I'll be promoting a healthy lifestyle, showing how keeping fit doesn't have to be a big commitment, and in the process raising money for the Sea Cadet Corps.
I have 2 chronic illnesses; Fibromyalgia & Rheumatoid Arthritis, therefore I will need to pace myself. What I have chosen to undertake will be personally difficult but it will definitely help improve my physical strength. Being fit and healthy has a big role to play and I'm taking on the "My Mighty Marathon" to push myself into the start of the New Year.
The money raised will help Sea Cadets offer a whole world of activities to children and teenagers from all kinds of backgrounds. From sailing or rowing to engineering and mountain biking, Sea Cadets does their bit to keep cadets active while they gain experience and qualifications along the way. Giving them a head start in life and supporting them over the finish line.
Being a Ex-cadet and now an Adult Volunteer, I have first hand experience on seeing the positive impact that the Sea Cadets has on young people. I wanted to help raise money to further fund the charity achieve it's aim and by donating to the cause, so can YOU!
