Story

Forget running the London Marathon, climbing Mount Everest, trekking to the North Pole or uni-cycling the Great Wall of China - The 2011 Davinathon is THE toughest endurance challenge going.
An elite group of slightly overweight/unfit/bonkers girls will be attempting to complete SIX of Davina McCall's workout DVDs in one go - that's nine hours of bum clenching, thigh burning, bicep curling exercise.
Not only will they burn off a whooping 3,200 calories but they will be the first group ever to take-on, and hopefully, complete this groundbreaking challenge.
For the uninitiated Davina McCall's DVDs are widely regarded as being the toughest, most sweat inducing, bottom crippling celebrity workout on the market.
Powered with a scientifically calculated combination of cupcakes, jelly babies and water - this crackpot team is hoping to take on the might of Davina McCall's DVDs and win.
It is fair to say each of the gutsy girls involved would much rather spend their Sunday relaxing with a glass of wine and tucking into a roast dinner - but we are giving up our time (and our ability to walk the next day) to raise money for The Stroke Association in memory of a wonderful woman - Jan Laney who passed away in February last year.
Jan was renowned for being able to go out dancing all night and still get up for a 6am early morning boot-camp session with a smile on her face!
We know as we are sweating, grimacing and swearing our way through our Davinathon challenge Jan will be looking down from heaven with a glass of wine and laughing her head off.
Please, please, please dig deep for this fantastic charity which raises awareness of strokes, supports people who have suffered from one and is carrying out vital research to try and find a way to stop strokes taking away much-loved people like Jan.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. UPDATE - Thank you very much to Louise Walker and all the team at Boots Bluewater for your wonderful support.
