Story

The Fathers and Sons 3 Peaks Challenge

On July 3rd and 4th 2011 four fathers and sons are are attempting to complete the 3 Peaks challenge. Mark and Ben Davies, Geoff and Will Eversfield, Greg and Andy Heath, Ian and Callum Thompson. Ian and his ex-Army pal Rory will be doing the driving and looking after the logistics so hopefully we won't get lost.

The challenge involves climbing the 3 highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales - Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon - inside 24 hours. In total 10,000 feet ascent/descent and over 500 miles of driving.

Geoff, Will, Mark and Ben are raising funds for a wonderful charity, CRY - Cardiac Risk in the Young. In the UK 12 apparently fit and healthy young people die suddenly of heart related conditions every week. CRY funds research, heart screening and bereavement counselling and is having a major positive impact on the lives of young people at risk and their families.

We are carrying out this 3 Peaks challenge in memory of Howard and Sebastian English, father and son, who both died suddenly whilst playing rugby aged 32 and 15 respectively.

Your contribution to this wonderful charity is hugely appreciated - Thank You So Much.
