Story
Although the real thing will have to wait, all those months of pounding the pavement are not going to waste! On 4th October 2020, I will be lacing up my running shoes to face the 26.2 miles / 42.2 km of the Virtual London Marathon in support of the Brain Tumour Charity.
This is a cause close to my heart, both personally and professionally. Although brain tumours are relatively rare, they have an enormous impact on affected patients and their families. They are one of the most difficult cancers to treat, and remain understudied compared with more common disease. Part of the problem is their huge complexity, with 'brain cancer' actually covering a spectrum of over 100 different tumour types!
This year more than ever, charities really need our support to maintain the fantastic work that they do. The Brain Tumour Charity is the world's leading brain tumour charity and the largest dedicated funder of research into brain tumours globally. Having had the pleasure to work with the Charity over many years, I've had first-hand experience of their incredible efforts to raise awareness, support research and help patients.
So please donate whatever you can to support this worthwhile cause. Because when you, or someone you love, is diagnosed with a brain tumour - A Cure Can't Wait.
Many thanks,
David
