We provide help and hope to everyone living with dementia.

Story

Dementia can affect anyone and is caused by diseases of the brain; one of these is Alzheimer’s. There are currently over 750,000 people with dementia in the UK and this figure will rise to over 1 million by 2021.

Dementia is terminal and there is no cure. One in three people over the age of 65 will die with dementia. Alzheimer’s Society supports people to live well with dementia today and funds research to find a cure for tomorrow.

So, why am I doing this? Well, my Dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2008 and died in 2010. He was 77. My Mum was also diagnosed in 2008 and is currently doing her best to live with this debilitating condition.

The Alzheimer’s Society does some amazing work. Without their help my family would have found the consequences of dementia so much harder to work through, so it’s an honour to be able to put something back.

I may not thank you when I’ve finished due to shortness of breath so THANK YOU VERY MUCH and please give what you can to help me raise £2,000! Unlike me the Alzheimer’s Society needs to keep on running…
