Story
Hello everyone!
On May 5th and 6th 2018 I'll be running the Thames Path 100 (http://www.centurionrunning.com/races/thames-path-100-2018). This is a hundred mile long foot race along the banks of the Thames all the way from Richmond, London to Oxford University. It's an enormous challenge and I've been in training for it since October.
This is probably the most difficult running challenge I'll ever attempt in my life. The race begins on Saturday morning and concludes sometime within the next 28 hours. I am under no illusions about how difficult this race will be, however anything I experience will pale in comparison to what my partner Eleonora has been enduring.
She has been suffering from a rare bone tumour called PEComa. PEComas are so rare that there is hardly any research on them. However, for treatment purposes they are considered as sarcomas which are themselves rare bone or soft tissue tumours that are hard to diagnose and difficult to treat.
For this reason we have chosen to raise money in support of Sarcoma UK. Money raised for Sarcoma UK will fund vital research projects looking for better treatments and also raise awareness of the symptoms of sarcoma to help patients get an early diagnosis, and ensure everyone has access to specialist advice.
Fortunately, Eleonora's treatment is proceeding well. While she is in hospital, preparing for the run helps me feel closer to her and we hope that with your generous donations we will also be able to help extending sarcoma research and awareness in the UK.
So donate already!
